NCCPT Exam vs. ISSA Exam: The ISSA certification exam is open-book, non-proctored, and not NCCA-accredited, while the NCCPT exam is NCCA-accredited, closed-book, proctored, and timed at 2 hours with 140 multiple-choice questions.
Step-by-Step Instructions for scheduling your NCCPT exam:
- Login to your student portal
- Under “Certification Courses”, select “Optional NCCPT Exams”
- Select the NCCPT-CPT Exam
- Review each section to ensure you have all the resources needed
- Click “Register” on the left-side column
- Follow the steps to request an eligibility code (codes are valid for 90 days)
- Underneath the eligibility code will be two links to schedule your exam through Prometric.
- Select a testing method—either remote or at a Prometric testing center
- Follow the prompts from Prometric to pay $79 fee and complete scheduling
- You'll receive an email from Prometric with your appointment confirmation and receipt. Be sure to save your confirmation number–you’ll need it for your exam

A: A $99 retake fee is required, along with the additional $79 proctoring fee. Please note that waiting periods will apply.
