Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is renewal automatic?

A: No, students are responsible for completing CEUs and ensuring current CPR certification before submitting their renewal request to ISSA.

Q: Can I renew early?

A: Yes, you can renew up to 1 year before your expiration date. Your new 2-year period will start from your original expiration date, not the early renewal date.

Q: What happens if I miss my renewal deadline?
A: You have a one-year grace period after your expiration date to renew. A late fee is required. If you are past the one-year grace period, re-enrollment is necessary.

Q: Does my original course fee include the first renewal?
A: No, certification renewal fees are separate from your initial course fees.

Q: Now that I've renewed, how do I access my updated certificates?
A: Your certificates will update immediately after your renewal has been processed. You can download them in the student portal as normal.

Q: What if my certification has already expired?
A: If less than 1 year expired, you can still renew online with a late fee. Please be aware that you will have to retake your certificate course if your renewal is more than 1 year past due.
